Terms and Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern all purchases of products and services from The Chicken Coop Factory(“we”, “us”, “our”). By placing an order, the customer (“you”, “your”) agrees to these Terms.

1. Service Area

We provide sales, delivery, and services within Ontario and Quebec, Canada. Any requests outside this region may be subject to additional approval and fees.

2. Orders & Deposits

A 25% deposit is required to confirm your order.

The balance is due upon delivery of the coop or structure.

• Deposits are used to secure materials and production time.
• Once production has begun, deposits are non-refundable.

3. Production & Lead Times

Lead times are estimates only. We will communicate expected delivery timing and update you of any changes. We are not liable for delays caused by weather, transportation issues, supply shortages, or other factors outside of our control.

4. Delivery & Access

We deliver fully assembled structures directly to your property.

• We will use reasonable efforts to place the coop in your desired final location.
• To ensure safe access, you are responsible for:
  • Confirming there is sufficient access and clearance for delivery equipment
  • Ensuring the ground is level, stable, and prepared for placement
• If access is restricted or unsafe, we may place the structure in the closest suitable location.

Any additional handling, equipment, or time required due to site conditions may incur extra fees.

5. Installation & Final Placement

Unless otherwise stated in writing, installation is limited to placement of the assembled coop on the prepared site. Structural modifications, foundation work, trenching, anchors, or adjustments are not included.

6. Warranty

We provide a 10-year limited warranty on workmanship and structural integrity.

Warranty excludes:

• Damage caused by negligence, improper maintenance, misuse, or abuse
• Damage resulting from modifications made after delivery (including drilling, cutting, removal of components)
• Environmental/weather factors such as:
  Extreme temperature changes
  • Moisture damage due to lack of maintenance/sealing
  • Wind, storms, flooding, falling trees, wildlife/predators, pests
• Normal wear and wood characteristics, including:
  • Cracking, warping, splitting, colour fading, knots

Warranty claims must be submitted in writing with photos and detailed description.

7. Natural Wood Variations

All structures are built from real wood. Variations in colour, grain, knots, texture, and weathering are expected and are not considered defects.

Minor design adjustments may occur to improve durability, safety, or availability of materials.

8. Customer Responsibilities

By purchasing, you agree to:

• Maintain the structure using reasonable efforts, including protection, sealing, staining/painting as needed
• Follow all relevant municipal bylaws related to backyard animals
• Ensure proper ventilation, sanitation, predator protection, and care of chickens or animals

Failure to meet these responsibilities may void the warranty.

9. Liability

We are not responsible for:

• Damage to property during placement if site access is insufficient
• Injuries or losses related to misuse of structures or improper care of animals

Our maximum liability is limited to the original purchase price of the structure.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the Province of Quebec, and applicable Canadian laws. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of Ontario.
